About the Archive

Alfred Hill Archive

The Alfred Hill Digital Archive has been created to provide access to musicians and researchers of all available resources relating to the life and music of Australia and New Zealand's most significant composer born in the nineteenth century.

The contents include published scores, manuscripts, programmes, letters, photographs, newspaper clippings and other miscellaneous documents.

Access is free of charge to all documents in the archive. Items shown in the catalogue but not yet uploaded, including published scores, can be requested and will incur a nominal charge for prioritising for scanning.

Items listed that are under copyright in New Zealand, or on loan from the Alexander Turnbull Library cannot be made available without permission from the creator but contact details will be supplied.

The archive also provides links to scholarly articles and recordings of Hill's music.
